Shreya Joshi runs a teen-led initiative dedicated to providing young people with the tools and resources they need to become engaged with the political process.
Why you should listen
As a teenager, Shreya Joshi has grown up witnessing the detrimental effects of political polarization. She believes that civil discourse, specifically conversation between people who hold opposing perspectives, is key to bridging the partisan divide, and as such she founded Project TEAL: a student-led, non-partisan organization helping young people become engaged citizens. In high school, Joshi also served as the executive director of Redefy, a nonprofit working to further equity and combat discrimination. She was the national training director and national women's caucus chair at the High School Democrats of America and a student representative on Chicago's Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission. She is currently a student at Stanford University.
