Natasha Tsakos

Natasha Tsakos is a showmaker and interdisciplinary artist who integrates performance, cinematic language and technology. For more than two decades, she has created immersive theatrical works that translate complex ideas into lived, sensory experiences. Tsakos creates performance as a form of inquiry. Her work uses visual and rhythmic language, rather than dialogue, to make complex ideas tangible and explore questions about the human condition. Her work ranges from large-scale interdisciplinary spectacles to tightly composed multimedia productions. Projects include UP WAKE, a live 3D-animated theatrical piece foreshadowing an increasingly digital world; CLIMAX, a provocative performance on climate change; CARABOOM, an immersive, site-specific joyful experience presented during the pandemic; and OPUS 9, a planetary concerto translating the Nine Planetary Boundaries into embodied form.Tsakos has appeared on global platforms including the United Nations General Assembly and the G20 Summit, and has collaborated with institutions such as Cirque du Soleil and the Tribeca Film Festival. In recent years, she has extended her practice into space research and microgravity creation as founder of Space Wonders, a theatrical company developing work for space environments. Through her work, Tsakos approaches the arts as a testing ground for human imagination — on Earth, and as humans begin to move beyond it.
