The TED story
I was involved in organizing the first TEDx event in Chiang Mai (TEDxDoiSuthep), which then became TEDxThapaeGate before it finally turned into TEDxChiangMai, a 1000 people + event (2013, 2014, 2016 plus many smaller events) of which I am the main license holder and organizer. www.tedxchiangmai.com. I have also been to two TEDActive event, the TEDSalon in Berlin, the TEDSummit event in Banff, and several regional events.
