Every society, every individual, and every community is shaped by stories, but too often these stories are told from only one angle. Histories get simplified, people get stereotyped, and experiences are flattened into single, incomplete narratives. “Flip the Narrative” is about turning these assumptions upside down and daring to see the world differently. It challenges us to take what has been dismissed as weakness, such as failure, silence, or difference, and reframe it as strength, resilience, and power. This theme is a call to courage, the courage to defy the roles we have been assigned, to reclaim ownership of our stories, and to amplify perspectives that have long been ignored. Flipping the narrative does not erase the past. Instead, it expands it by giving space for hidden truths and overlooked voices. Speakers might share how a failure became a turning point, how stereotypes were dismantled, or how entire communities redefined themselves against limiting labels. At its heart, this theme is about transformation, proving that when we flip the narrative, we not only change the story but also open the door to new futures.

  • Major Yasser Khan

    Former Indian Army Major

    Major Yasser Khan is a former Major in the Indian Army and now a Senior Territory Manager for OCI & AI at Oracle, Qatar. He has made one of the most remarkable career transitions moving from military leadership to driving Cloud and AI-led digital transformation across major enterprises in the region. His journey from India to the UAE and Qatar showcases adaptability, discipline, and the courage to redefine one’s path.

  • Mubarrat Wassey

    Founder of Vocara Institute

    Mubarrat Wassey is the founder and executive director of Vocara, an education institute focused on speech and debate. He is the former coach and manager of the Qatar National Debate Team. Under him, the national team of Qatar was ranked as the third best English debate team in the world. Prior to this Mubarrat was a debater himself. He is a 3 time Asian Champion and Best Speaker, and was captain of the first Asian team to win the Australasian championships in its 41 year history. He is the Chief Adjudicator of the upcoming World Schools Debate Championships 2026, currently sits on the Board of Directors of the WSDC organisation.

    Global Finance & Strategy Leader

    Purba Solomon is a global finance and strategy leader whose career spans 25 years across the Middle East, Canada, USA and India. An all-India rank holding Chartered Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, and Dean’s list and Citibank Scholar MBA graduate from the Indian School of Business and London Business School, Purba has built a reputation for driving value creation, transformation, and financial strategy in complex multinational organizations. Currently based in Qatar, Purba continues to explore how strategy, storytelling, and stewardship intersect — inspiring others to look beyond the balance sheet and start counting what truly counts.

His work is defined by sharp analysis, fearless questioning, and a commitment to stories that challenge assumptions and reshape the way we see the world.

  • Salih Mansoor

    International Tax Consultant

    Salih Mansoor is a proud alumnus of DPS–Modern Indian School and an international tax consultant at a leading Big Four firm in Doha, specializing in transfer pricing and cross-border tax advisory. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Finance and an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation (UK), providing him with a strong foundation in global tax systems. Beyond his tax expertise, Salih also serves as an AI Champion for his firm’s regional international tax team, where he leads the adoption of AI and automation tools to enhance productivity, strengthen analytics, and deliver smarter client solutions.

  • Sharvi Patwardhan

    Secretary Student Council, DPS-MIS

    Sharvi is a humanities student and the Secretary of the Student Council at DPS–Modern Indian School, Doha. She has authored a research paper on military intervention and a white paper with Model NITI Aayog on economic equity. Sharvi was also named among the Top 50 finalists of the Yale International Relations Association (YIRA), highlighting her growing impact on international discourse. Her global journey includes a prestigious summer program at the Geneva School of Diplomacy and winning the Most Innovative Project Award at the Harvard Youth Leadership Conference, a testament to her creativity and commitment to meaningful change.
