He is best known for pioneering research on racial disparities in trauma care, leading major academic institutions in the United States and Pakistan, and founding Boston Health AI, an artificial intelligence company advancing global healthcare accessibility. In 2017, he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his medical and humanitarian contributions

He co-founded the company in 2005 with his mother, Sultana Siddiqui, with the aim of promoting a positive image of Pakistan and its culture on a global scale. HUM Network is the only publicly listed media organisation in Pakistan and has garnered significant interest from the public due to its transparent business dealings, excellent understanding of the industry and commitment to good governance.

• Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

  Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a Pakistani businessman, engineer, and statesman who served as the 18th Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2017 to May 2018. With a background in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a career spanning both the corporate and political sectors, he is widely recognized for his technocratic approach to governance and policy reform. Before assuming the office of Prime Minister, he held key federal portfolios, including Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources. In this capacity, he played a central role in initiating Pakistan’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import framework, contributing to efforts aimed at addressing the country’s chronic energy shortages. His tenure was marked by a focus on infrastructure development, energy security, and economic stabilization. A long-standing member of the National Assembly, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has remained an active voice in parliamentary politics, advocating institutional reform, rule of law, and democratic continuity. Beyond politics, he has experience in the aviation sector and corporate management, having founded and led private enterprises prior to entering full-time public service. At TEDx, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi brings insights from decades of leadership at the highest levels of government—offering a perspective shaped by policy decision-making, crisis management, and the complexities of steering a nation through political and economic challenges.
