외상성 뇌손상 후, 종종 뇌가 스스로 복구하는 경우가 있습니다. 훼손된 세포를 대체할 새 뇌 세포를 만드는 것이지요. 하지만 이런 식의 복구는 (루게릭병 혹은 ALS 로도 알려진) 운동 뉴런 질환같은 퇴행성 질병을 막기에는 너무 느리게 일어납니다. 싯달탄 찬드란은 특별한 줄기 세포를 사용해 손상된 뇌의 복구 속도를 증가시키는 신기술들을 단계별로 보여줍니다.
