Reed Hastings cofounded Netflix in 1997 and spent 25 years as its CEO, transforming how the world discovers and watches (and binges) film and television. In 2025, he was appointed to the board of Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company that created the Claude large language model. A computer scientist, former Peace Corps math teacher and dedicated education philanthropist, he chairs Netflix’s board, serves on Bloomberg's board and founded the Imara Fund, which partners with global leaders to drive prosperity across Africa. In 2023, he purchased Powder Mountain in Utah — one of the largest ski resorts in the US — and, as CEO, is leading an ambitious redevelopment plan.
