Why you should listen
Marielle Remillard began her career as a scientist seeking engineered solutions to environmental problems. She worked as a field hydrologist on large-scale infrastructure projects like the Susitna-Watana Dam in Alaska before going on to pursue a PhD from Harvard, where she developed low-energy desalination technologies. In parallel, she spent five years volunteering with a youth advocacy organization calling for stronger international climate change policy at the United Nations. She approaches climate change from many angles, including science, policy and business, in order to navigate the complex solutions that environmental issues require. Currently, she directs her efforts as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, working to accelerate the adoption of more sustainable business practices. She specializes in work that spans sectors, studying the material requirements of the energy transition to answer the question: What will it take to reach net zero?
