The TED story
Although I've known about TED Talks and watched fantastic videos before, I discovered the platform for volunteer translating just a year ago.
I could not decided whether to give a try or not since I did not have any experience on subtitle translation.
But, after I watched Catherine Pawley (Life's too short to weigh your cornflakes) I said to myself, "oh, this is exactly what I'm going through. Burcu, see, she is recovered now and she is healthy. What! No Turkish subtitles for this talk! But what about people who cannot understand other languages but Turkish and more seriously if these people are sufferers of anorexia nervosa too?"
So, I decided to try to translate it into Turkish. Having found Amara quite easy and enjoyable to use, I've been translating TED videos into Turkish since last year and feel quite glad for the experience it provides.
