Bio
A Researcher, Tech Enthusiast and Translator!
I am an HPC Engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and a passionate TED translator. As a TED Translator, I transcribe chiefly in the languages- English and Bengali (my native Indian dialect). Currently I am involved in spreading awareness about open-source translation tools and making such mechanisms easily accessible to translators globally. Like all other people in the TED community, I strive to make technology and knowledge readily available to a certain congregation in our world where language can be a key barrier. I employ the concoction of articulation so that 'science' may ease its way into people's minds and tickle their intellect. Furthermore, I am fiercely inclined towards causes such as promulgating diversity and equality.
I'm passionate about
Helping to make information easily and equally accessible to all sections of society universally
An idea worth spreading
"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest"---Benjamin Franklin
Areas of expertise
Computer Science, DEI, Leadership, Open-source softwares, Research, Translation tools
The TED story
My TED story started when I was an undergraduate student in India. I stumbled upon an exciting video link shared in Facebook by a friend. This was a TED video- so engaging, that it initiated me to follow the TED community. Videos after videos-I browsed through an ocean of possibilities: myths debunked, fears conquered, phosphorescent ideas molded into fiery truths, so on and so forth. A few years down the line, I believed I was capable enough to contribute my language skills which I had acquired passionately over many years, to the TED community. Soon afterwards, I started off as a TED translator!
