I am a teacher in a bilingual school in Yogyakarta. An idea worth spreading
Have you ever wondered if there is one universal value that applies to all being?
I used to wonder, "is there a law in this life that absolutely works regardless of faith, race, and culture?".
And after many experiences, I got to know the answer, "It's the art of giving".
Indeed, many authors and philanthropist wrote about this. Many important figures and preachers talked about this too. However, by observing my own experiences, I'm totally convinced that it's indeed a law of life.
(1) When you give, you'll receive something back. And most of the time, what you get back is far more valuable than what you have given. Sometimes, it gets back to you in different form.
(2) I'm not merely talking about items or money here. It includes services and voluntary acts of help. Sure you can donate money and things for good causes. But you can also share what you're capable of. Help people with it or teach people about it.
(3) It doesn't matter how much you can give. Of course, the more might be better. However, It's the sincerity and well-meaning that count more.
(4) We're not rich because we have many. But, we're rich because we're willing to give a part of our possession. Sharing and charity will make us happier. And the real success, in my opinion, is when we can help other people to coexist in prosperity and harmony.

The TED story
The first time I watched TED video was a talk about how we could hear the noise converted from nerve signal. I was mesmerised by how that signal could actually sound like beats in beat-box. I fell in love with TED since, and I've watched numerous inspirational videos they published.
When I managed to secure a job as a teacher, I brought TED to my classroom with the hope to pass the inspiration to my students. Furthermore, I used TED-Ed videos to enrich their learning experience.
I was grateful that I found TED videos since they helped me a big deal.
So, at some point I decided to join the TED translator volunteers in order to both pay it back and pay it forward. At the same time I could return TED good deeds and also help Indonesian youths to get access into meaningful videos.
And this comes with added bonuses. I get to practice and sharpen my English skills, plus I obtain new information.
