I’m an English ↔ Portuguese translator specialized in medical and healthcare communication, with a focus on oncology and type 1 diabetes. My work combines linguistic precision, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered communication to help complex medical information become clearer, more accessible, and more meaningful across languages. Alongside my professional background in languages and translation, I bring over 40 years of lived experience with type 1 diabetes, a perspective that deepened my understanding of how healthcare communication affects real people, beyond terminology alone. My experience includes medical translation, patient-facing materials and educational content. Currently, I am developing specialization in clinical trials and linguistic validation, supported by training in GCP and GMP. I am interested in projects involving informed consent, patient-reported outcomes, and other materials where clarity and conceptual accuracy are essential. I am also a sworn translator appointed by the State of São Paulo, Brazil. I’m particularly interested in projects involving: • Oncology • Type 1 diabetes and chronic conditions • Clinical research (informed consent, COAs, patient diaries, etc.)/ LV • Patient education materials • Culturally adapted healthcare communication
