The TED story

I became aware of TED in 2012 thanks to a TV channel that used to broadcast TED talks on a daily basis. With the course of time, I took a keen interest in those talks and I wanted to explore more topics of interest to me. Hence, I began browsing the library of talks in TED's website, and that’s how I came to learn about the opportunity to volunteer to translate those talks and help bringing them to non-English speakers. It was a chance for me to be part of a great community and to have a role in it. I became a TED Translator in 2016. Since that time, I have contributed my time, energy and expertise to translate, review and transcribe for TED in Arabic, English and French, and collaborate with other translators from the global TED Translators community to elevate translation quality and mentor new volunteers.
