Grigor Janikyan

Grigor Janikyan is a dynamic youth advocate with a remarkable 10-year track record within the non-governmental organization (NGO) sector. In 2017, Grigor embarked on his own inspiring venture by establishing the "Youth for Change" NGO, focused on Civil Society Development, a project he continues to lead passionately. Notably, he also founded the "United Youth Union" NGO in 2015, subsequently serving as its chairman for four consecutive years. Grigor's dedication extends beyond his organizational leadership roles. He holds the prestigious title of licensee and chief organizer for TEDxMoskovyanSt conferences, actively contributing to the TED Open Translation Project in Armenia. Grigor's professional journey features valuable experiences in different areas. He served as a Marketing Officer at World Vision Armenia for a commendable period of 2 years. He also contributed his skills and expertise to the OxYGen Foundation, where he excelled as a Program Coordinator. Further enriching his career, Grigor joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia as a Project Assistant, where his dedication and contributions undoubtedly left an indelible mark. Within the realm of international development, Grigor began his tenure at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) as a Project and Finance Officer for the Armenia project. Recognizing his potential and commitment, he rapidly ascended to the role of Regional Project Officer, showcasing his ability to lead, innovate, and achieve success in diverse and challenging contexts.

From the very childhood, I have had the perception of a more decent life in every aspect. I envisaged the world of a better place with equality, much opportunity and resources for everybody. My main goal of life became social activism, fighting discrimination and violence, poverty, and injustice. My great passion is uniting people from different circles for better change and sustainable development for the future. The passion must be turned into goal and aim of the life: this is the reason why I am striving to establish better educational system and infrastructure in my community, on pan-regional level. I believe that every child and adult regardless of age, gender, and social status should have equal opportunities and circumstances for personal development and mapping one’s future. I really believe in the power of education, especially non-formal education, that is the fundamental and basis of everything, and the solution to every problem. Summing up, I can say that I am passionate about equality, justice and cooperation for better future.
