I started planning our first TEDx event the day after TED posted the initial TEDx announcement on the blog in the winter of 2009. I am now organizing my sixth TEDxColumbus. I've helped curate or coach university, elementary school. high school, prison TEDx events. In 2010 I began the first set of tools to train other TEDx organizers (the TEDx Learning series webinars) and presented at TEDx workshops at TEDActive in 2011 and 2012. I was honored to be featured as one of five TEDx organizers at TED2013 showcasing TEDx. While my day job affords me a decent lifestyle, my TEDx work keeps my intellect from shriveling up and introduces something or someone interesting to me every day. I gave up active organizing in 2018 but still help where needed- raising money, coaching a speaker. Our TEDxColumbus program celebrated it's 11th year in 2019. I am proud of how many ideas have been shared and voices elevated as a result.
