Bio
I come from Chamba, a small town in India, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. I did my masters in Economics from Himachal Pradesh University. I have been in the United States for seven years. While in India, I was a lecturer; but coming to US on a dependent visa I spent my time volunteering at schools. I started translation for Khan Academy as a volunteer. I watched TED Talks with my family and that was when I decided that my students back home needed to watch these inspirational talks as well. I joined Ted Talks as a Hindi translator in 2016. Now, I am a freelance translator, working under the name “anuvaadika”. I am a home maker, proud mother of two teens, passionate about nature, cooking, gardening, and of course, translation.
I'm passionate about
My family, dogs, translation, and nature
An idea worth spreading
I shall pass through this world but once,
If therefore there is any good that I can do,
Let me do it now,
If there is any kindness that I can show,
Let me show it now,
For I shall not pass this way again.
