Bio
I am a professional translator and interpreter. Born in the lovely village of Safita, Syria, I never thought I could one day come face to face with my dreams. Moving to the capital Damascus at a young age was surely a step in the right direction. My story with languages began with my first English class, and thanks to the languages I would soon come to master, I became a certified schizophrenic. Owing to Arabic, my native language, I developed my earliest personality: first, a child who used simple Arabic to strengthen his bond with his mother, and then, a citizen whose sense of belonging to a certain culture gradually intensified as he delved deeply into the mysteries of Arabic language. English, my second language, helped shape my second personality: a citizen of the world, eager to discover how acquiring this language can grant him access to more than three hundred million people. Finally, my third personality quickly matured when I came into contact with my soon-to-be third language, French. By that time, it became evident that translation was the means if I ever wanted to bring these three languages together in one person. A full scholarship from the University of Balamand, Lebanon, allowed me to complete my undergraduate studies and obtain a BA in Languages and Translation. And today, I'm pursuing an MA in Conference Interpreting at Saint Joseph University, Lebanon.
I'm passionate about
Speaking, communicating with people from all around the world, studying and using languages (duh!) and writing. I'm also obsessed with the idea of perfection and the possibility of a realistic Utopia.
