Bio

I am currently taking a lot of time and effort into changing my career path from education into translation (mainly media localization - audiovisual translation) and I have always loved working with languages and being creative with my writing. Therefore, I believe that this is the perfect moment to apply for the position of a subtitler from English into Polish. To begin with, I am a graduate of English Philology (MA) specialising in literary and audiovisual translation. In 2023 I completed my postgraduate studies "Digital Translator - New Technologies in Translation", that broadened and consolidated my practical knowledge, as well as allowed me to be up-to-date with the current situation on the CAT tools market and their use in translator's work. Recently, I have completed six courses on media localization and subtitling organised by the AVT Masterclass: Fundamentals of Subtitling, Master Forced Narratives, Master Subtitling Guidelines, Timing Subtitles 101, Speed up Your Subtitling Workflow and Subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH). Moreover, a few years ago I had also translated a historical novel of over 400 pages from English (US) into Polish ("The Girl from Krakow" by Alex Rosenberg; Polish title: "Dziewczyna z Krakowa"). I am really passionate about translation and languages in general.
