I’m Carolina, a LATAM Spanish Translator specializing in audiovisual content and literature. Since 2023, I’ve specialized in subtitles, dubbing, QCing, and synchronization, preserving the original tone and theme of the message, so the target audience can enjoy it just as much as the original one.

Creative writing. Ever since I can remember, I've always loved to create and tell stories, whether to entertain someone or to distract them from life's normalcy.

Being a translator is not only about conveying the original message in a different language, but it’s also about re-writing, transcreating and adapting. Most people fail to see that translators are writers themselves, particularly in the audiovisual and literary fields, in which creativity is crucial to adapt texts across cultures and languages and where format limitations challenge you to rise to the occasion.

I consider myself to be quite an extroverted person, I've been so ever since I can remember. It was never an issue for me to make friends, to stand my ground, or to defend other people who were not as vocal. I believe that translated into choosing my career path as an interpreter. It is through the power of live communication that I can transmit the original message into another culture and language, and bridge the gap of injustice, whether it be during volunteer practices or private HR meetings.
