Tanvir Mahtab is the Head of IT for TEDx University of Barishal 2025, themed "Voice of Today, Vision of Tomorrow." With a passion for visual storytelling and creative communication, he leads the design efforts that bring the event’s identity to life. Tanvir is also the Convener and Founding Member of the Marketing Club at the University of Barishal, serving as the Head of Graphics and Visuals at Barishal University Business Club. Beyond campus, he is a co-founder of Influence the Youth and Plant for Bangladesh, two youth-led initiatives focused on leadership development and environmental sustainability. Through every role, Tanvir is driven by a vision to empower young voices and design a better, more meaningful tomorrow.

Introduction: The Voice That Echoes I still remember the first time I truly realized the power of my voice. It wasn’t from a grand speech or an applause-filled hall. Instead, it came from something seemingly small—a poster I designed for a campus event. That poster wasn’t just an image; it was a message that invited, inspired, and moved people. Growing up, like many young people, I often felt unheard. The world told me to wait my turn, to follow the rules, and to keep my ideas in check until I was “ready.” But the fire within me refused to be silent. I believed that the “Voice of Today” holds the seeds for the “Vision of Tomorrow.” That belief became the foundation of my journey—a journey to empower youth to speak up, to lead, and to shape the future through creativity, leadership, and purpose-driven action. This is not just my story. It is a call to every young person who has ever been told their voice is too small, their ideas too big, or their dreams too distant. Your voice matters. Your vision can transform the world. Chapter 1: The Silence We Grew Up In Our education system and society often teach us to listen rather than speak, to memorize rather than innovate, and to follow rather than lead. For years, I lived inside this silence. I was a student who did what was expected, learned what was required, and rarely dared to ask why. But deep down, I knew there was more. I saw my peers filled with potential, creativity, and passion, yet many were held back by fear, doubt, or lack of opportunity. The world seemed to reward conformity over originality. It wasn’t until I took the first step—breaking free from the silence—that things began to change. Founding Influence the Youth, a platform to inspire leadership and action among young people, became my rebellion against the silence. It was messy, uncertain, and difficult, but it was also alive

People often see me as a graphic designer or a youth leader, but what many don’t realize is how deeply I’m skilled at understanding different perspectives and crafting messages that truly resonate. I’m good at listening—not just hearing—but really listening to what people want to say, then turning that into powerful visuals or strategies that move hearts and minds. This hidden strength helps me bridge gaps between ideas and people, turning passion into purpose and vision into reality.
