Bio
I am Brazilian, from Italian parents who came to Brazil, and I learned Italian even before I learned Portuguese (!). I began to read when I was 4 years old and when I went to school I was already able to read and write.
I also lived in Italy for 1½ years (1984-1985).
My first three jobs were in translation, starting back in 1985; I translated software - computer games and its related documentation for Brazilian software houses. Then after I graduated in Electronics Engineering I started working in the semiconductor segment (integrated circuit encapsulation and test) as Product Engineer in Marketing, and had to deal with vast amounts of manuals, documentation and presentations in English, part of that had to be translated as well.
I worked in the semiconductor segment for 16 years and in the banking and retail automation for 5 years (same company, different divisions), then I returned to the semiconductor segment for 8 more years at a different company. All this time having to deal with material all in English. I also participated in trade fairs in USA and Germany.
I wrote a science fiction novel at age 15, translated a book ("Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise") for a local editor in 1993. More recently I have been writing scientific and technical articles for a local magazine and a news portal. I am also the editor of a science fiction magazine and recently I compiled and organized two short stories anthologies featuring great Brazilian authors: one about science fiction / space opera and the other about cosmic horror.
Now I decided to start translating as a real occupation, so here I am.

An idea worth spreading
Our planet is fragile and we all depend on it. Let's not consume all its resources like there is no tomorrow. Let's take care of our precious and beautiful home and leave a good place for our children.

The TED story
Following TED since its beginning. Now I am delving into translation and would really love to translate many TED lectures and be a part of it (even if it is a small part :-)
Things you might not know
I can't really talk about all the things I am good at, as I am one of the most modest people in the world and surroundings.
