About Nina
Bio
I am an audiovisual translator working between English and Spanish, specializing in subtitling, localization, and linguistic review. My experience includes multimedia content, educational materials, and editorial projects. I hold a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Translation, with a focus on subtitles, dubbing, and localization, and I enjoy working on projects that help stories and information reach Spanish-speaking audiences.
I'm passionate about
I am passionate about making language more accessible and exploring the intersection between translation, storytelling, and technology. My appreciation for storytelling has shaped my interest in video games, anime, and global animation, especially in how thoughtfully localized media can create emotional connections across cultures. I hope to contribute to the future of language by combining creative localization with emerging technologies, from bringing animated stories to new audiences to developing computational linguistics solutions that make education more accessible and intuitive worldwide.
An idea worth spreading
I believe languages are more than a way of communicating; they are a way of making knowledge and experiences accessible to others. Through my studies in languages and audiovisual translation, I have seen how translation can help ideas travel across cultures and reach audiences beyond linguistic barriers. Whether through education, films, or digital content, translation allows people to connect with stories and information they might not otherwise have access to.

The TED story
My journey with languages started through curiosity about how people communicate and understand the world around them. Studying languages led me to translation, and eventually to audiovisual translation, where I found a way to combine language, storytelling, and culture. Through my work with subtitles, localization, and educational content, I have seen how the right words can help ideas reach people in a way that feels natural and meaningful. Joining TED allows me to put this into practice by helping global ideas break linguistic barriers.
Things you might not know
I’m good at combining creativity and structure. Translation requires both attention to detail and the ability to think creatively, and I enjoy finding the balance between accuracy and making something feel natural.
