Bio
Kayla addresses unmet healthcare needs in middle to low-income countries through use of tech & AI and was awarded a US Fulbright Fellowship to conduct medical device research in India for the 2018-2019 session. Afterwards, she completed a masters at Stanford studying the intersection of AI in healthcare, medical devices, design and global health.
She now lives in Nairobi, Kenya working to develop community health digital tools to bridge community and facility-based health service delivery for pregnant mothers, diabetic and hypertensive patients.
While living in Africa, Kayla has also founded a commune, film club, swing dancing club in Nairobi, and has coached 30+ speakers for TEDxNairobi and TEDxNairobi Youth events!
Kayla is also single & secretly hoping she might meet someone at TED who matches her love for ideas ✨
