Bio
I'm an EN>IT | FR>IT translator who's currently specialising in creative translations (transcreation, localisation, subtitling) while also pursuing a career in research (Translation Studies). I am a night owl, a bookworm and a language enthusiast. When I am not translating, you may find me browsing JSTOR, speaking French to my cat, or rewatching the same series for the umpteenth time. Whoever you are, it's very nice to meet you. Feel free to send me a LinkedIn connection request if you have a multilingual project in mind!
I'm passionate about
bridging the gap between thoughts and expression through translation. Just saying words is not communicating. Simply converting words from one language into another one is not translating. I believe interpretation is what makes us humans who are able to connect with each other and do great things together.
Areas of expertise
audiovisual translation, creativity, extreme translations, localisation, marketing, psychology, transcreation
The TED story
TED has played a really important role in my educational journey. I stumbled across TED's YT channel when I was younger and just starting to realise how much I loved languages. When I got to university, many of my interpreting classes required us to watch and translate what the speakers were saying, pronto. Now, I sometimes watch back the same videos and realise how much I've grown as a translator. I hope my subtitles will help fellow curious people develop their own strengths.
