Bio
Hello! My name's Karel, and I'm a Filipino living in America. I joined TED as a Tagalog translator to establish a connection with my home country even miles away. I am always open to making new connections. Feel free to email or message me!
I'm passionate about
Reading! I love reading. Every day, without fail, I read at least a few chapters off of an interesting book. This year, so far, I've read around 30 books.
An idea worth spreading
Embracing your country's culture and traditions provides you with the unique opportunity to connect with your friends and family through your shared love of home.

The TED story
I discovered the opportunity to volunteer as a translator with TED through HOSA - Future Health Professionals, an international association of students who aim to dedicate their lives to the study and practice of healthcare. Volunteering at TED is one of the many activities HOSA encourages its students to participate in to broaden their horizons and ensure they are well-rounded individuals.
Things you might not know
Baking! I love baking all sorts of treats. My specialty is Hershey's White Chocolate Chip Cookies! Countless people have told me that my cookies are the best they've ever had. Aside from cookies, I also like baking bread and cupcakes.
