Esteban Le Comte

I’m a multilingual entrepreneur currently working in real estate. Originally from Troyes, France, I’m now based in Batumi, Georgia. I’m fluent in French and English and have earned language certifications in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. I’ve also studied Spanish since high school and am gradually learning Georgian and Russian, two languages I’ve been exposed to daily since moving to Georgia more than a year ago. I've spent years shaping my life around one core belief: genuine connection across cultures starts with how carefully you listen and how precisely you communicate. My professional experience spans customer service, real estate, translation, and entrepreneurship. What connects them is people — understanding their needs, building trust, solving problems, and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression. I genuinely enjoy being around people, learning from them, and constantly challenging myself to grow.

Being multilingual isn't just about words, it's a form of hospitality. Every time you meet someone in their own language, you're telling them: you don't have to adapt to me, I'll meet you where you are.

My journey with TED began in May 2023. I was looking for something meaningful to volunteer for. At the same time, I'd always been passionate about languages and translation, and I'd been a TED Talks fan for years. Contributing to their translations felt like the perfect fit: a way to give back, in some small way, for everything I'd learned for free from the experiences and ideas shared in those talks. I volunteered with TED for almost two years but stepped back to focus on entrepreneurial projects as I left France. It remains one of the experiences I'm most grateful for.
