About Tania

Bio

I am a Spanish professional translator who works from English/French into Spanish, although I work mostly from EN>ES. I am doing a MA in audiovisual translation, which I am about to finish, and I would love to get some real experience in subtitling.

I'm passionate about

Animals (especially cats - especially my cat), reading, videogames and TV shows.

An idea worth spreading

This is not a philosophical or world-changing idea. This is something personal I wanted to share. When I talk to my professional colleagues or read their comments on their Facebook wall, I feel bad. When I attended my classes in college and I heard what my professors had to say, I felt bad. Everyone is a proud translator and their job are their true and only passion. Everything they say or do is translation-related. And that's OK for them, not for me. See, I don't hate my profession but I don't worship it either. Am I a bad person for NOT dedicating my entire life to talk about my career? Am I really a shame to my kin for NOT laughing at people who can only speak one language and write with bad spelling? Maybe I am, but I will keep talking about animal defense, environment, my favorite videogames or books or films and, yes, sometimes about translation. I am a proud cat-lover. I am a proud bookworm. I am a proud gamer. And I make my living translating, but that's my job, not my passion.
