Bio

I was born in June 1995, and when I was 16 years old, I made the decision to quit school and pursue an apprenticeship as an office clerk. After successfully completing my training in September 2014, I worked in various office jobs at different companies. However, I soon realized that this profession was not aligned with my long-term career aspirations. In October 2017, I made another bold decision to start my bachelor's studies in Linguistics at the University of Salzburg. Throughout my academic journey, I gained valuable insights and experiences that have helped shape my personal and professional growth and eventually in October 2020 I successfully completed my degree. Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the decision to postpone my Master's degree and take some time to reevaluate my plans. I was hesitant to move to a new city during such an uncertain time and worried about the possibility of feeling isolated without any connections. Consequently, I chose to work as a storekeeper for spare parts at a garage for one and a half years, which allowed me to gain more work experience and reflect on my next steps. In March 2022, I decided to take a leap of faith and enrolled in an English course in Malta to improve my language skills. The experience was enriching, and I gained confidence in communicating effectively in English. After completing the course, I came back home, moved to Vienna and began pursuing my master's studies in Translation. Through my experiences, I have learned the importance of resilience, courage, and taking calculated risks to achieve my goals. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work, and I am excited to continue making a positive impact in my chosen field and beyond.

I'm passionate about

Reading, translation, and subtitling are three of my greatest passions. These activities are not only sources of entertainment and enjoyment for me, but also represent a significant part of my personal and professional development. Ever since I was a child, I have always had a deep love of reading. Books have always been a means of escape for me, allowing me to explore new worlds and perspectives beyond my own. As I grew older, my passion for reading turned into a desire to understand different cultures and languages. During my Bachelor's studies in Linguistics, I focused on topics such as syntax, semantics, and phonology. I found these subjects fascinating, and I was particularly interested in how language functions in the brain. My studies also involved learning about various language families and their structures. Through my coursework, I gained a deeper understanding of the nuances of language and how it can differ between cultures. I enjoyed analyzing texts and deciphering the meaning behind words, which eventually led me to pursue a career in translation. Although I have not yet established myself as a professional translator, I am eager to continue honing my skills in this field. I am drawn to the translation of thriller and true crime literature, as I find the process of conveying the author's intended tone and style in another language both challenging and rewarding. Additionally, I have a strong interest in subtitling, which requires careful attention to detail and a deep understanding of the source material. I am confident that with more experience and practice, I will continue to improve my abilities as a translator and subtitler. Aside from my passion for reading, translation and subtitling, I’m also passionate about photography. It's a hobby that allows me to capture the beauty of everyday life and explore different techniques to create unique images. My love for photography inspires my approach to translation and subtitling as I believe both require a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for the nuances of expression. In conclusion, my passion for reading, translation, and subtitling has been a driving force in my personal and professional development. These activities have allowed me to explore different cultures and languages, and have provided me with a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. Additionally, my passion for photography has allowed me to express myself in a different way, and to capture the beauty of the world around me. Together, these passions represent a significant part of who I am, and continue to inspire me every day.
