The TED story
I've studied Translation Science, because I'm fascinated by foreign cultures and want to help overcoming language borders and cultural differences.
I stumbled upon TED after we moved from Germany to Russia. I wanted to do something useful and registered to be a volunteer translator in the Open Translation Project.
As an expat your live is repeatedly subject to many changes and you're always trying to be strong and not lose your mind.
The OTP helped me to keep a connection with my native language and my profession. It became an important network and adds a huge value and some kind of stability to this demanding and changeful life. The people I met through TED and the OTP became my international tribe.
