The TED story

Sometime in 2016/2017, I bumped into the TED talk by Rita Pierson: Every kid needs a champion, which changed how I engaged with my students. I shared it with the School Director at the time and she immediately shared it with the school community. It summarised the school's mission and served as a wake-up call for my colleagues as it relates to how we must engage with out students. From then on, I relied on TED talks for motivation and inspiration. I was having another conversation with my boss about a platform for our students to develop public speaking skills. A series of conversations led to us hosting our first TEDx event at Start-Rite Schools.
