About Lola

Bio

I'm interested in almost everything: I love art, engineering, architecture, literature, philosophy, technology, science,... I'm a very curious person and I would like to have more than 24 hours in the day to learn and enjoy more and more. After 13 years working in AEC multi-disciplinary companies, I've been able to join the things that I love in my current job. This achievement makes me enjoy every day with what I do, being the most self-motivated person in the whole world :-) In the last years BIM has invaded my life: new processes, new ways of working, new software,... BIM brought me to London changing my language, my friends, my company and my job. I'm BIM Coordinator at Foster + Partners. I'm an everlasting learner, and I have the certificates of the latest version of Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage and BIM 360 (Glue and Field). I have done courses like "Revit Families" or "Advanced Concepts of Revit" in order to manage deeply this software. In my spare time I like to walk, take bad photographs and read classic literature: I love Dostoyevski, Schopenhauer, Nietzche, Flaubert, Sartre, Hesse, Kafka,... I try to help others all as I can, and in this way I'm volunteer in "Friends of the Eldery", and I also help to spread good ideas here, in "TED Conferences", translating the English talks to Spanish and Catalan. I'm the moderator of the "Revit Structure Community" in Google+, place to share knowledge, tips and tricks, doubts, news,... and where everybody interested is welcomed.

The TED story

I got a job in London, so I had to learn very very very quick English! A lot of TED speakers were my personal teachers... not only in English, but also in topics like motivation, leadership, hapiness, challenges, choice, etc. My English is not very good YET, but I learnt a lot about very useful things in the real life and I would like to collaborate spreading these ideas in my languages (Spanish and Catalan).

Things you might not know

Knowing the behaviors and the human being in general.
