The TED story
I finished my undergraduate dessertation The Communication Characteristics of "TED Talks" in April 2022. This article analyses the speakers, topics, formats and lengths of the TED Talks videos from 2018-2021 and summarises the communication characteristics they exhibit. For example, speakers with a strong social reputation have a strong social influence, speech length is specific, and personal growth topics are stable. The aim is to provide an effective and feasible implementation plan for Chinese speech programmes and to bring inspiration to the creation of domestic programmes.
