Bio

I'm an English Language and Literature graduate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specialising in literary translation and subtitling. My path here wasn't a straight line, I trained and worked in pastry and culinary arts before returning to studies in language and literature, and I think that background still shapes how I work: precision, patience, and getting the small details right, whether that's a pastry layer or a subtitle timing cue. I currently work as a freelance audiovisual translator (EN↔EL), and I've spent time teaching English to young learners, which taught me a lot about making complex material clear and accessible a skill that translates directly into subtitling.

I'm passionate about

Making ideas travel well between languages without losing their voice. There's a real craft to subtitling that I love fitting meaning into a character limit without flattening it, finding the one phrase that keeps both the sense and the soul of what someone said. And I love teaching for the exact same reason: there's something quietly magical about watching a complex idea click for someone, about being the person who makes it feel simple instead of intimidating. Whether it's a subtitle or a classroom, I'm always chasing that same moment where something dense finally makes sense, and lands.

An idea worth spreading

That language is never just words, it's access. A well-timed, well-written subtitle can be the difference between someone understanding a talk and someone feeling shut out of it. I believe translation and subtitling are quiet but powerful forms of hospitality: making sure no one is left outside the conversation because of the language they speak.

The TED story

I came to TED Translators wanting to put my studies to use in a real, living way not just academic exercises, but talks that actual audiences would watch and learn from. Translating and reviewing talks from English into Greek has become one of the most rewarding parts of my work: it combines everything I care about language precision, accessibility, and the idea that good ideas shouldn't be limited by the language they were spoken in.

Things you might not know

Baking. Before language and literature, I trained in pastry and culinary arts so if a translation project ever needs a recipe rendered with real technical accuracy, I'm your person.
