My name is İlayda Eskitaşçıoğlu. I was born on October 14, 1993, in Ankara, Turkey. I’ve graduated from TED Ankara College Foundation Private High School in 2011 with the seventh degree considering the grade points. I am an International Baccalaureate graduate as well with a grade of 39 over 45. I was in the 423rd place in the Higher Education Examination-Undergraduate Placement Examination in Turkey. Today, I am a sophomore law student in Bilkent University with half scholarship.
I am interested in music, literature, painting and dancing. I was an active singer in the school choir as an alto for three years in high school and participated in more than fifteen performances of our school choir. I also participated in several dance classes and shows in high school. I have attended tango classes for one year and prepared for a Grease dance performance for one year as well. I attended salsa and modern dance classes during my first year in university.
Since the elementary school, I have been writing articles regularly for the school newspaper. I have been writing for the official newspaper of my university for two years as well. I won several prizes including the first prizes in Ankara in many story and essay contests. I am the editor of Sine Qua Non Law Journal of Bilkent University Law Faculty.
I was an active student in the Commenius Programme and participated in several projects when I was in high school. I visited Spain for one week for an organization of the programme which was supported by European Comission, and participated in the organization of a Commenius conference in my high school in which several foreign participants came and I hosted a Commenius student. Besides the Commenius programme, I have actively participated in the 2009 Terry Fox campaign and worked for the building of a library for Kayalar Elementary School in Ankara as a volunteer.
I have been a member of Bilkent MUN Society for three years. I have attended more than 10 MUN conference as a delegate and Under-Secretary General and won many awards.
I’ve been painting unprofessionally since I was in the elementary school. I have many charcoal and oil paintings.
I have been an Erasmus student in Leiden University Law School during the spring semester of 2014. Now, I am back in Turkey as a senior year in Bilkent University Law Faculty.
