About Frida
Bio
My name is Frida Perez and I was born and raised in México. I'm currently a receptionist in a Watkins Wellness Mexico and on my spare time I make use of my bachelor's degree in Translation to translate and/or proofread documents. Volunteering as a TED translator is one of the activities I enjoy the most, with several approved translations and expecting more to come. One of my personal achievements are having two books in process of writting and being able to self-learn languages, just like I'm currently doing as an intermediate Japanese and Portuguese learner. I expect to be able to learn even more languages in order to help more people to communicate and share cultures with one another.
I'm passionate about
I enjoy learning languages as a hobbie, it's very hard to just stick to one or two at a time!
Dancing is another one of my passions, just like music.
Writing is my favourite art, expressing myself through words in a pen and paper (or in a word processor!) is the best feeling in the world.
I'm also a hardcore anime and videogame lover.

The TED story
I met TED at college, I don't remember exactly how and I encountered the TED translator program when looking how could I gain experience as a translator. At first, I didn't think I would've been approved to do so since it's a very important agency, however, I was very excited when I entered the program right away. Now I translate conference after conference!
