Bio

Raised in the cold south, started playing professional soccer and at 17 moved abroad. Italy, US, Ex-Yugoslavia and then back to São Paulo. Started working in a multinational British company that moved me to Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in Law and Business Administration. From there and since the 80,s I´ve been living in the sunny northeastern city of Salvador. Father of 4, divorced. After 20 years with that company decided to take 2 sabatic years and went to Europe for a Master´s Degree in Spain. In my return decided to go to the health environment and graduated in Psychoanalysis and Neurosciences.Working at non profit hospitals since them. Presently, I´m the CEO of the Hospital da Sagrada Família, who attends mostly people without money or health plans.

I'm passionate about

History. Travelling and getting to know new and ancient places. I´ve been more than once to almost all countries in the Middle East, Turkey, Egypt. China and India are planned for next year.

An idea worth spreading

The link between Social, Economical and Emotional intelligence. Besides eliminating famine and disease, people have to be educated. The food waste only in Brazil would be sufficient to feed almost 10 million people everyday. Education at all levels.

Areas of expertise

Coaching, Management - Change Management, Management Development, Psychoanalysis

The TED story

It´s a story of resiliency. Being orphan of both parents at the age of 3, having a very hard experience as a child and teenager, it was the hardest way to learn how to survive and later on understand the limits and how to establish relationships. Thanks to a number of people and later to the Psychoanalysis that helped me to understand and forgive the past, me included, I could raise a family and today I´m the proud father of 4 happy kids with and a grandson. What would be a typical story of failure, turned out to be a story of overcoming obstacles and success as far as the search for a decent life and happiness is concerned. Today I try to help others in situations that need to be oriented and counseled.
