Bio
My hope is to gain even more knowledge that is relevant to my field of study (biotechnology) and beyond. I am very interested in the ethics surrounding science and the Effective Alturism movement. Currently, my main goals are about broadening my perspectives so that I can choose a career path which optimizes my own ability to contribute to improving the world. Learning and networking is one of the best ways to achieve this goal.

The TED story
An interesting cross section of passions led me to discover the TED Translators Program. Through my love for learning languages, exploring new ideas, and combining goals for efficiency, I found myself using TED Talks as a tool to link all three. I watch videos about a topic I enjoy, with the subtitles in e.g. Portuguese, a language I'm currently learning, thereby absorbing information in many forms all at once! These types of experiences are great fun and I hope that my translating work will allow others to do the same!
