The TED story
My journey began when I decided to leave a stable 9-to-5 job, a career I'd been in for seven years with a clear path forward, to become a freelance translator. While waiting for my first paid assignment, I discovered that TED offered volunteer subtitle translator roles. This opportunity not only helped build my professional profile but also allowed me to fulfill a personal passion: using my language skills for a greater cause— sharing knowledge from the English-speaking world with my community through translation. Although the number of clips I've translated is still modest, I am committed to continuing my contributions and adding many more Thai translations to the TED archive.
