Hi, I’m Maitreyi! I’m passionate about exploring how our cities and environments can be more sustainable and kinder to the people who live in them. I’ve presented my ideas on the Urban Heat Island Effect at international conferences, written research papers on climate solutions, and I’m just getting started—I love asking big questions and chasing them down with curiosity. When I’m not diving into environmental research, you’ll probably find me at a chessboard (I play at the national level!), getting lost in a good book, or swapping stories over coffee. I’m always excited to connect with people who believe in ideas that can spark change, whether they’re about science, creativity, or everyday life.

I’m passionate about creating cities that are not only sustainable, but also welcoming and resilient for the people who live in them. I’m fascinated by how small ideas can spark big change—like finding ways to cool our neighborhoods, reduce carbon footprints, and bring communities together through science and innovation. Beyond my research, I find joy in strategy and creativity—whether it’s through chess, writing, or connecting with people who share a drive to make the world better.
