Bio
Hi everyone!
My name is Vincenzina Lopalco, Vicky for my friends. I am 23 years old and I am a recent graduate in Specialised Translation and Interpreting from University of Trieste (ITA).
The languages I use for work are Italian (my mother tongue), English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Turkish.
In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as focused and resolute by my professors and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular or professional projects, I apply proven critical thinking and multitasking skills.
My passions? I love travelling, discovering new places and new cultures. I have practised judo for many years (almost 18 years) at a professional level: judo is more than a sport for me, it is a lifestyle and a training for body and mind.
In my spare time, I like reading and writing poems. And, of course, I love watching TED Talks, which are so inspirational and perfect to watch on a bad day.
I'm passionate about
movies, books and sport (judo, mostly).
An idea worth spreading
"There's no lemon so sour that you can't make something resembling lemonade": when I first heard it, I was watching This is us, an American television series, which is so heartbreaking and moving, but at the same time I think it is a source of inspiration and hope. Since I heard this quote, I’ve tried to embrace it as my daily motto.

The TED story
I acknowledged TED Talks' value and the impact during my university years: our teachers used these influential videos in order to make us improve our language and translation skills. In doing so, I realised TED Talks were not only a simple tool to use in the academic context, but also versatile showcases. TED Talks are a source of inspiration and knowledge thanks to the presentation of great and well-formed ideas. They are so entertaining and educational that when you start watching them, you can't live without them.
