Bio

I am a Canarian citizen who is very interested in a wide array of topics, such as Linguistics and Languages, Art and its applications and psychology, among others.

I'm passionate about

Two of the topics I am most passionate about are, on one hand, art and, on the other hand, civil rights activism. I firmly believe that, if we are about to improve as a society, there must a process of deconstruction of prejudices and beliefs that harm the most vulnerable among us (such as non-eurocentric ethnic groups and the LGBTQ+ community, among others). As an illustrator myself, I really love to explore the intersection between art and activism. This way, I love to use my artwork as some kind of tool in order to raise awareness about the discrimination and privilege that exist in our society.

Areas of expertise

Illustration, Interpreting, Languages, Proofreading, Translation

The TED story

I discovered TED as I was studying my degree in Translation and Interpreting. In fact, TED Talks were one of the resources we used the most in interpreting classes. As time went by, I started exploring the platform by myself, and discovered a lot of eye-opening and insightful talks. Since then, I come back every now and then in order to learn more about the topics I love and am concerned about.
