Subtitling! For me, translating is like breaking a code. It is intriguing to find out what someone is trying to express through the language they speak. What do they mean by those words? What is that they are trying to deliver? How to translate that into my language? Besides having another bachelor's degree in the Korean Language, I was also an Indonesian to English web article translator and have worked on some projects such as machine translation post-editing and subtitling projects from Korean and English into Indonesian or English. Furthermore, I do some self-project translation in various forms--song lyrics, news articles, even simple sentences delivered through social media. I compile some of them on my blog. I started my TED Story by joining TED Translators. As part of TED Translators, I subtitle talks in English and/or Korean into Indonesian. TED Translators allows me to improve my language and subtitling skill while also having insightful ideas from the talks I subtitled.
