Bio
My full name is Maria Carmina, but I prefer everyone to call me Carmen. I was born in Italy and I have been living here since then. I am a linguist and I have recently got a Master's Degree in Foreign Languages with a thesis on the 2014 Scottish independence referundum, which I analysis under the perspective of applied linguistics. I have worked as an assistent librarian and as a teacher, doing some translations from English. I am also a writer, though I have never had the courage to publish anything. Last, but not the least, I am a passionate feminist and I believe in the universality of human rights.
I'm passionate about
English literature, politics, discovering different cultures, food, languages and writing.
An idea worth spreading
Learning new languages and reading new books are a portal to new worlds.
The TED story
I have discovered TED thanks to my English professor at university and I have recently discovered that it was possible to volunteer as a translator, so here I am.
