I graduated in the field of Information Technology from a Vocational Training Institute. However, I didn't pursue web development later in life. Instead, I've been hooked up with subtitling for many years. Having watched a lot of audiovisual content, especially from Asian Cinema, proved to be quite helpful. From that moment on, I became part of the fansubbing community. The entire process is joyful, creative, and meticulous. The software I've been using most of the time is Subtitle Edit which I consider the best desktop-based subtitling software that I've used by far. Apart from that, I also used VisualSubSync from time to time just for creating timed-text templates and editing pre-existing translated subtitles. I'm also familiar with the use of transcoding tools. Later, I decided that I should attend a two-month subtitling training webinar to get more in-depth knowledge. Occasionally, I'm reading articles and surveys from academics and researchers in the field of subtitling in AVT. I'm somewhat fascinated, not to mention that I was a little bit surprised by that from the very start because amateur subtitling attracted the attention of various scholars who, through extensive research, have written about this phenomenon. Moreover, it helps me to be informed on the current trends in the subtitling industry in general. I didn't know anything about crowdsourcing until I joined Amara in October 2015 and became a volunteer translator for the European culture channel ARTE. https://www.arte.tv/en/ Unfortunately, the channel didn't update its content regularly as TED does. However, I still watch their programs from time to time. Afterward, I decided to join TED back in November 2017 and I remain active up until today.

Apart from subtitling, I also like hiking and reading literature, especially from sci-fi and epic fantasy genres.
