The TED story
My journey with translation began with my love for languages, music, books, and writing. Over time, I discovered that translation is about much more than finding equivalent words—it is about understanding people, preserving meaning, and bringing different cultures closer together.
As a translator, I have come to see language as a bridge. A translated song can make someone feel understood, a book can introduce us to a completely different way of seeing the world, and a simple message can connect two people who otherwise might never understand each other.
This is why I want to share my story: to show that translation is not simply about changing words from one language to another. It is about creating connections, opening doors to new perspectives, and helping people understand one another.
People don't know I'm good at
People don’t know I’m good at turning my curiosity into connections. I can spend hours exploring a song, a book, or a piece of writing simply because I want to understand what makes it meaningful. That curiosity has become one of my greatest strengths as a translator.
