Carolina Alfaro de Carvalho is a native bilingual speaker of Portuguese and Spanish with a B.A. and M.A. in English-Portuguese translation (PUC-Rio, Brazil). She has been a professional translator since 1996, being introduced to subtitling in 1997. She has worked with distributors of films for cinema theaters and DVD producers, but her main niche for over eight years have been cable TV producers for the Brazilian audience. She has translated a wide range of feature films, sitcoms and documentaries in her three working languages. Since 2005 she also teaches translation and subtitling. She lives in Toronto, Canada, since 2007.
