Bio
I was born in Petaling Jaya, a small suburban town in 1972. I grew up in a middle class family and i had a fascinating and good childhood. My Dad, (my hero) will always encourage us to dare to dream and don't be afraid to be the best you can be. His words still hold through.
I graduated with a Mass Comm degree and worked for a local satellite broadcast station provider, there after, during the Economic crisis of the late 90s, I packed my bags and headed to Hong Kong to try out as a producer and writer. My one and half years stint in Hong Kong gave me an opportunity to collaborate with many outstanding creative people and chefs. I decided to come back to KL in 2001 to pursue further in TV production and at the same time, planned my first foray into business: A cafe.
The Cafe project came into full swing in 2004 and I had quite the time of my life. My partner and I sold the business and I spend some time, exploring and visiting many countries before coming back to do my next project.
The next project involved food distribution. Although it ran for a two years, however, it seemed that it's not meant to be so, in 2009. we had to sold the business..
From then onwards, it was consultancy work until recently, I chance upon watching a TED talk on youtube in year 2010, it changed my life. Highly infectious, and bursting with creativity. The Talk blown me away and I never looked back. Now, being involved with TEDxPetalingStreet - gave me better insights and the need to continue to educated and spread ideas to my community.
Did you know, I don't know how to speak, read and understand Mandarin? Yes. I come from an English educated background. In my country, you can choose to be schooled in National or Vernacular school education system.
The best thing about being volunteering TEDxPetalingStreet - I got to know my own culture and roots better. Now, I like to bring ideas with Food, it seems that Ideas and Food go together, like Coffee and Cakes... No?

The TED story
Being a volunteer at TEDxPetalingStreet. What I've learned is, collective effort by people who are inspired by amazing ideas will come together and create the right vibes conducive to share ideas that are worth spreading. Truly humbled and awed by the experience and for being a part of the team that made this magic happened.
