Paweł Wajlonis

I am an applied linguistics student at University of Gdańsk, currently finishing my Masters studies. I am a co-founder and chief of Chojnice branch of Stowarzyszenie "Młodzi Demokraci", an active member of Zrzeszenie Kaszubsko-Pomorskie, a politician of Platfoma Obywatelska (Civic Platform). I am an amateur musician devoted to any kind of music from jazz and blues, through classical music to sung poetry. I have a deep love for Polish poetry, especially by Polish Nobel Prize winners, Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska. I am proud of my complex roots that make my Polish by birth, but Kashubian and partially Lithuanian in my heart.

Following the example constituted by the first Prime Minister of democratic Poland after 1989, Tadeusz Mazowiecki, who has shown the world that there is no place for hate in politics. I deeply believe that a good politician has deep respect for each of his oponents and any political crisis can be solved by means of constructive discussion and negotiations instead of political games, hate and populistic approach.
