I discovered TED thanks to one of my university professors, who showed us Erin McKean's talk about he joys of lexicography. I loved it - and then promptly forgot about it. Until I came across Sarah Kay's "If I should have a daughter", which made me cry my eyes out. In the best possible way. That was three years ago: since then, TED has made me giggle and tear up and reflect and wonder and speculate. Not bad for a little website...
