About Maria

I am a…

Athlete, Global soul, Student

I'm passionate about

Rhythmic Gymnastics. I have competed on an international level for many years (at first unwillingly) but I ended up falling in love with this sport. Learning new languages is another passion of mine, and since I like being useful translating is the perfect solution. I'm also passionate about reading classic books written by authors like Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Alexandre Dumas, Emile Zola, Victor Hugo and the list goes on. I adore singing, I have been participating in choirs since the age of 10 and singing Brahms' requiem or Mozart's requiem is simply uplifting.

An idea worth spreading

As Mark Twain rightfully pointed out: "We laugh in the face of adversity". No matter in what twisted position life puts you in,you have to shake it off and do your best. Beating adversity or even trying to, is character building.

The TED story

Not much to tell for now but I am going to change that soon enough. I found out that I could be a volunteer translator thanks to a friend, so I seized the opportunity and here I am. I wish to make TED videos available in as many languages as possible. The messages conveyed are amazing and should be widespread.
